Add depth and dimension to your dancing through Ballroom + Latin cross-training.
When do you want movement to continue through the body? When do you want it to stop? When does the music call for suspension versus attack? Many of our tiny dancers get excited about dancing and dance everything to the absolute max. This is a wonderful skill AND it can lead to dancing looking a little one dimensional. Ballroom (especially slower dances like Rumba) are great training for bringing control, depth, and lyricism to their dancing.
This week, dancers will explore Rumba through slow, calculated movement juxtaposed with fast staccato “hits” to accent specific moves - we’ll also be working on balance, control, and weight transfer—developing the control and precision that can be especially challenging when movement cannot rely on speed.
This workshop is designed for experienced dancers and is intended to supplement, not replace, their existing dance training.
